GCP in Vietnam celebrates five years

G

This month marks five years of GCP presence in Vietnam. To mark the occasion, GCP Vietnam has been reflecting with GCP Members and partners on the journey since becoming officially operational in Vietnam in 2017.

“On the occasion of this important event, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the members and partners of GCP and look forward to continuing cooperation for a prosperous and sustainable coffee industry,” said Trung Pham Quang, Program Manager Vietnam, adding that the occasion provides an opportunity to look back at the progress made and to look ahead at the exciting work that will form part of GCP 2.0.

“We’ve made a lot of progress in Vietnam on the ground with farmers, and also with critical partners at the policy level to ensure coffee farming becomes increasingly more sustainable. Through GCP Collective Action Initiatives, the development of National Sustainability Curricula integrating the occupational safety and health for coffee farmers and several trainings we’ve done around the country, we can see the positive impact GCP has had on coffee in Vietnam already,” he said.

The best part is that we are not done yet! Delivering on GCP’s new goal, we’re looking forward to accelerate the work with our GCP Members and partners to contribute to the prosperity of more than one million coffee farmers.
