Coffee is one of the main economic activities in Nicaragua which has 44 thousand producers. But a lack of organisation has long limited the development of the sector along a sustainable pathway. The Nicaraguan Platform for Sustainable Coffee (Nicafés) was created to address this issue as a multi-actor platform for dialogue and a coordinated approach to address critical issues in the sector.
