Participation, Antitrust & Event Terms

Global Coffee Platform (GCP) is a voluntary multi-stakeholder membership organisation that brings together coffee sector stakeholders to advance collective action and sustainable coffee systems. To support constructive, lawful, and respectful engagement across all GCP activities, participants are expected to comply with GCP’s Antitrust Agreement, Terms of Participation, Event Participation Terms, and applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

The following page outlines the principles, rights, responsibilities, and conduct expectations that apply to GCP Members, event participants, speakers, and guests participating in all GCP meetings, events, webinars, working groups, and collaborative activities – whether held online or in person. Further information regarding the processing of personal data is available in GCP’s Privacy Policy.

Note: GCP reserves the right to update these terms and participation guidelines from time to time. This information was last updated in May 2026.

Antitrust Compliance

All participants of GCP events agree to the following antitrust regulations:

There shall be no discussions of agreements or concerted actions that may restrain competition.

This prohibition includes discussions of current or future prices, margins, discounts, the timing of price changes, costs, capacities, customers, suppliers, product and marketing plans, sales projections, credit terms, or other competitively sensitive information relating to your business.

We must also not talk about agreements to fix prices, control sales or the output of production, allocate markets, or refusing to deal with a particular entity. The discussion or exchange on these topics must not only be avoided during this meeting but also during all informal gatherings when competitors may be present.

Each meeting participant is obliged to speak up immediately for the purpose of preventing any discussion falling outside these bounds.

Event Participation Terms

All participants of GCP events are deemed to have accepted GCP’s Terms of Participation:

In addition to accepting GCP’s Terms of Participation, GCP Members and non-member participants agree to the following terms:

1. ANTITRUST COMPLIANCE

By registering for or participating in a GCP event, participants agree to comply with all applicable competition and antitrust laws as stipulated above. Participants must not discuss or exchange commercially sensitive information, including but not limited to pricing, production volumes, market allocation, or other competitively sensitive matters.

2. EVENT LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION

Unless otherwise stated, GCP events are conducted in English. GCP may provide language support services, including simultaneous interpretation or AI-generated captions and translations, for accessibility and convenience purposes only. Such translations may not be fully accurate or complete. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency, the English version shall prevail.

3. RECORDING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND USE OF MEDIA

GCP may record events and capture photographs, audio, or video content for reporting, communications, archival, and promotional purposes. Participants will be notified where recording is taking place.

By participating in a GCP event, participants acknowledge that their image, voice, name, or contributions may appear in event recordings or photographs used by GCP in connection with its activities.

Participants who do not wish to appear in recordings or photographs should notify GCP in advance by contacting info@globalcoffeeplatform.org, and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests.

4. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

GCP processes personal data in accordance with data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

Participant information will be used for the administration and delivery of the event and related GCP activities. Participants may opt in to receive future communications from GCP, and may unsubscribe at any time.

Further information is available in GCP’s Privacy Policy.

5. PARTICIPATION AND ENGAGEMENT

Levels of participation and engagement may vary depending on the format and purpose of each event.

In addition to event-specific feedback channels, GCP Members may contribute to agenda-setting and priority development through the annual Membership Assembly, membership surveys, thematic and country work streams, working groups, and national platforms cooperating with GCP.

6. CODE OF CONDUCT

GCP is committed to providing a professional, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants. Harassment, discrimination, abusive behaviour, or disruptive conduct may result in removal from the event or restriction from future participation.
