GCP Field Days – the exclusive online series connecting GCP Members to action in coffee producing countries – returns in 2021 with Country Platform Conversations. The series of conversations will introduce members to the work, goals and new action opportunities of GCP’s Network of Country Platforms.
“Talking to many GCP members around the world I keep hearing the great interest to understand more with which specific topics Country Platforms are advancing sustainability. Members are keen to understand the goals and linked activities of the platforms but also where are options to participate,” said Caroline Glowka, Manager Member Relations and Corporate Partnerships.
“I thought we could try a new format to give the Country Platforms room to thoroughly present their work to GCP members. I am very excited that GCP is making this unique offering to its members through the GCP Field Day and hope that members and their relevant staff take the opportunity to join these calls.”
“GCP’s extensive network of global Members and local Country Platforms are clearly at the forefront accomplishing initiatives that deliver significant results and create well-being for coffee farmers and their families,” said GCP’s Mary Petitt GCP Ambassador North America about the thinking behind the webinar series. “This series will introduce more people to the important activities being undertaken by Country Platforms to harness local action for global results.”
Importantly, the events will provide concrete action opportunities for GCP Members to get involved in. Members that may be less familiar with a particular country’s work will gain a good overview, valuable insights and find out practical ways to get involved. These opportunities range from supporting efforts to develop or roll-out National Coffee Sustainability Curricula, participating in initiative design and planning, joining a GCP Collective Action Initiative, or taking part in knowledge sharing events.
“We can’t wait to welcome you to GCP Field Days Country Platform Conversations — Vietnam! We will be presenting to you the highlights of our work such as the progress of the GCP Collective Action Initiative on the Responsible use of Agro-inputs. We’ll also present you the opportunities to get strongly connected and intensively involved in our work planned for 2021. Thank you for partnering with GCP Vietnam as we are all working together towards coffee sustainability!”
Pham Quang Trung
Program Manager Vietnam
“We’re excited to welcome GCP Members – new and established – to our event on 10 March 2020. Participants in our webinar will learn more about the work being done in Uganda currently, and have the chance to join us in initiating a new GCP Collective Action Initiative this year. We’re ready for action and look forward to meeting with Members who want to get involved and help us drive coffee sustainability in the country!”
Samson Emong
Country Coordinator Uganda
