“If you want to go far, go together”- EFICO joins GCP!

EFICO is a green coffee trading company established in 1926. With headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, and offices in Germany, Switzerland, USA, Brazil, Ethiopia and Guatemala, EFICO commits to deliver safe, sustainable and qualitative green coffee to its customers and tailor-made services.

As a new GCP Member, EFICO agrees on the importance of putting the coffee farmer as a central focus within the coffee supply chain. “By becoming a member of the Global Coffee Platform, we are convinced that our joint impact, also with the other members and sister organizations, will even become more significant”, affirms Dorien Van Dun, Marketing & Communications Executive. Van Dun further adds: “there’s an African proverb saying: if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We fully support that vision”.

The EFICO Group has a long-standing family history and differentiates itself by offering a complete concept throughout the Green Coffee Supply Chain, From Flower to Cup. Their long-term approach combined with extensive expertise in coffee producing countries, trading activities, logistics services and intrinsic values ensures continuity.

EFICO strongly believes in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Principles, to which they were the first coffee trading company to sign up to in 2003. This commitment is reinforced by their ambitions towards 5 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Responsible entrepreneurship is part of their ‘Coffee Genes’.

Their ambition towards a sustainable coffee supply chain is, among other ways, reflected in their investment in SEABRIDGE, a state-of-the-art sustainable warehouse and distribution center for green coffee in the port of Zeebrugge, where green and high-qualitative logistics prevail.

With the EFICO Foundation they make a difference by supporting sustainable multi-stakeholder projects in coffee producing countries with the aim to improve the livelihoods of many. Specific focus areas are knowledge transfer, adaptation and mitigation to climate change and a sustainable income increase for coffee farmers.
