We would like to welcome new members that recently joined the Global Coffee Platform:
- The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) was stablished in 1982 by a small group of coffee professionals seeking a common forum to discuss issues and set quality standards for the specialty coffee trade, the SCAA is now the world’s largest coffee trade association with nearly 2,500 company members. SCAA members can rightfully be credited for much of the growth and success the specialty coffee industry has experienced over the past twenty-five years. We are currently working out concrete collaboration options to enable members of SCAA to participate, engage and contribute to Global Coffee Platform’s activities, especially at national level and in thematic workstreams of interest.
- The Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA) is a non-profit global consortium of institutions, sustained in partnership with the International Institute for Sustainable Development’s Sustainable Commodity Initiative, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and the United Nations International Trade Centre (ITC). The focus of the COSA initiative is developing and applying independent measurement tools and indicators to assess the distinct social, environmental and economic impacts of agricultural practices.
