GCP at the first Coffee Quality Contest of Rondônia State
Rondônia state, situated at the Amazon region in north of Brazil, is increasing coffee production with plans to reach 2.0 million bags, mostly Robusta, in the next couple of years.

Through its partnership with state extension service Emater, GCP has supported several initiatives focused on sustainability and quality, including the training of 150 Emater technicians on the Coffee Sustainability Curriculum.

Designed with the support of GCP, the First Canephora Coffee Quality Contest received about 200 samples from all producing regions in the state.
Following the two regional semi-finals, the state’s final event took place on September 14th. The contest also included a sustainability component with awards for coffee growers who excel on sustainable practices.
