Assessing the economic sustainability of coffee growing

Following the International Coffee Agreement 2007, the International Coffee Organization provides Members with studies and reports on relevant aspects of the coffee sector.

This document contains a study on the economic sustainability of coffee growing. This study:

  1. Assesses the cost structure of coffee production in selected countries
  2. Derives recommendations on how to improve the economic viability of coffee production

The content of the study is based on an analysis of the coffee price levels using ICO market data and an assessment of production based on cost data provided by Members.
