In partnership with the Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA) and the Rainforest Alliance, the Global Coffee Platform (GCP) has been working towards facilitating measurement and the alignment of science-based indicators and metrics through the Coffee Data Project*. Our shared goals include improving the sector’s ability to identify and measure best practices in sustainability, enabling more effective sustainability investments and communication of impact and results.
During the past year, an international expert group reviewed the concept and utility of 15 key coffee sustainability indicators which had been previously and jointly identified by members and partners of the Sustainable Coffee Challenge and the GCP.
Today, we invite you to share your view on these key indicators – now made operational – by taking a brief survey that includes questions on how they can add value to your business. For instant access to the indicators & metrics and a short survey click here.

*The Coffee Data Project, supported by the ISEAL Innovations Fund, will as a next step develop a technical standard to facilitate data exchange and contribute to a consistent set of smart coffee metrics. It is expected that these tools and technologies can be used by all actors in the field to gather clear data that drives shared understanding of the multi-dimensional sustainability aspects of coffee. It will also facilitate the technical inter-operability of current data sources in order to reduce costs and increase knowledge, while safeguarding the individual and/or group information that different organizations can gather.
