Decision Points for GCP Membership Assembly 2018

The GCP Board approved the following decision points for the 3rd GCP Membership Assembly 2018:

  • Report back from Board & Discharging Board
  • Endorsement of GCP strategy & high-level plan 2019
  • Endorsement of governance changes
  • Board Elections 2018
  • Endorsement of minutes of the 2nd General Assembly 2017

We strongly encourage all GCP members to play an active part in shaping GCP’s way towards a sustainable coffee sector by attending the Membership Assembly and by casting their votes. The GCP Board as well as the GCP Secretariat are looking forward to engage with you and other members in discussions on those important decision points and the way forward!

Call for nominations for GCP Board elections 2018

At the GCP Membership Assembly Board elections will take place. In total, three Board members are going to rotate out in line with the by-laws of the Boards providing an opportunity for three Board members to be newly elected. The seats open for election are:

  • Two seats for a Producer Representative, which are currently held by Hariyanto Lim from PT Asal Jaya, Indonesia and by Alexandre Vieira Costa Monteiro from Cooxupé, also on behalf of CNC, Brazil, respectively. Candidates for Producer Board seats need to be producer representatives or representatives from local coffee exporters
  • One seat for a Civil Society Representative, which is currently held by Marcel Clement from Rainforest Alliance, The Netherlands.

Motivation Sheet for Global Coffee Platform’s Board Candidates. The deadline for handing in applications is October 15th, 2018 COB(CEST).

The GCP Nomination & Election Committee will check all valid nominee’s applications against the defined qualifications criteria. We will inform the membership about the Board candidates and share details regarding the election process in calendar week 43.

Board members are elected for a three-year term.
