The first Train the Trainers on the Coffee Sustainability Curriculum (CSC) of 2017 in Brazil was hosted by ESALQ (College of Agriculture) of USP (University of São Paulo). The university is in the top 5 Universities of Agricultural Science in the world, according to a U.S. News and World Report.

Students highly rated the training. Geraldo de Lima, an INCAPER technician said:

“Train the Trainers turned a seven-headed monster – sustainability – into something understandable and pleasurable”.

Advanced Training on Coffee Sustainable Curriculum in south Minas Gerais state

The advanced stage of the Train the Trainers elaborates on the concepts and approaches related to the Fundamental Items of the Coffee Sustainability Curriculum (CSC). It includes one day of activity in the classroom and another in the field.

The latest Advanced Training took place at University of Alfenas (Minas Gerais) and the field day at the Fazenda Movimento in Aerado, South of Minas Gerais. During the field day, the technicians verified an innovative weed management system to increase soil organic matter and humidity that is proving to be a promising alternative for irrigation.
