Building on the work previously done under Vision2020, the Sustainability Progress Framework looks at how different investments and actions of coffee stakeholders contribute towards the prosperity and well-being of farmers and workers, nature conservation and sustained supply of coffee. To do this, the Global Coffee Platform and the Sustainable Coffee Challenge are establishing a sector-wide consensus on a common definition of success for coffee sustainability and the metrics to measure individual and collective progress towards this goal.
The Joint Working Group, which is made up of a diverse collection of stakeholders, is leading the charge in developing this framework and is open to your participation and contributions. This coming meeting, which will be the last before the release of Version 2.0 of the Sustainability Progress Framework, and includes the first draft of common indicators, will agree on updates and revisions of the ‘definition of success’, report back on discussions and recommendations coming out of 3 sub-groups (Improve Livelihoods, Sustain Supply and Conserve Nature), and agree on the draft list of proposed indicators.
